I am a mixed media artist. I balance intuitive and analytical responses as I interact with the work, allowing the painting to emerge with layers of value, color, texture, shape, and pattern. I work from a sense of wonder and discovery to convey the depth and mystery of life. I am always working on multiple pieces at a time, each piece informing and pushing the others to completion.

Susan was awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant from the Arts and Science Council. Previously, she’s been a member of Charlotte Art League, Mooresville Arts, Lake Norman Art League, The Society of Bluffton Artists, and the Art League of Hilton Head.
